This week we delved into our questions and read a few things. Indian Education was about a man who told his story through big events through his schooling years that had impacted him in a way that affected his identity. Identity was what we were looking into and studying. My question was “Do you control your existence?” In which existence means who you are aka identity in this situation. I discovered that we are a different person to each person we know or even just seen. Our looks and our actions determine who we are to other people. In other words, we exist differently in other people’s mind than who we really are. We also exist in our own mind which is usually different from others, possibly biased. I believe my mind has opened to others and how they may see me through my actions.

Some things are a little different from what I am used to in other classes. It seems like I'm doing more work than other classes but not with homework more of thinking than anything. I have to think about ideas, questions, poems that I hear/read. I learned about racism and asians americans who have been affected by it. One quote that stands out to me from the video was this guy who said when he was young he liked this girl and he ran up to her and said "I love you!" and she said "You're the color of poop!". As funny as that sounds it is still a problem even in kids that young who learn from their parents how to act. I still think I need to get better at creative writing because I find it hard to come up with ideas off the top of my head even though it shouldn't be that hard, I practice art and usually can make up original designs quickly to put in a painting.
I'm going to reflect on the poem read today about your pets that you've since moved on from. Pets have such short life spans compared to us they must see us as gods. I remember my many pets who have passed. I usually had outdoor cats who would become very fond of me, but unfortunately being outdoors in the country means that there are dangers and I wouldn't have them for too long. I now have my 5 year old cat that I got from a shed where she was born. She outlived two older cats we've had before. When I begin to think about my future involving college and a new life, I think if my cat will still be there, and how I will want to be there for her last breath and make sure she knows that I love her and haven't left her emotionally.
